Social Life

Dr. Mwangi had a very strong vision in farming, especially horticultural farming, leaning heavily towards organic farming. His distaste for chemical fertilisers made him diversify to manufacturing organic fertilisers, hence he started the factory at the gate of his homestead.

The above farming activities and other community empowering initiatives, made him to be recognised as a Shujaa during the 2020 Mashujaa day celebrations by His excellency the President Uhuru Kenyatta.

On Thursday 22nd October, he started feeling unwell and on Saturday 24th October he was taken to Avenue Hospital – Thika and discharged. However, he was to be re-admitted at the same hospital on the following day.

He was transferred to Kenyatta referral hospital on Wednesday 28th morning around 5am. He unfortunately passed on at around 9pm later that evening.

Dr. Mwangi Gachamba is survived by two widows, six children and two grandchildren.

May God rest his soul in eternal peace.
